GSR Today - Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto have a gorgeous new residence designed by Shim-Sutcliffe Architects that takes advantage of its natural setting; students at St. Joseph Catholic Academy in Kenosha, Wisc., learn meditation; and other stories from around the non-NCR news this week.

Kenyan Sr. Anne Kiragu, a Daughter of St. Paul, works in South Sudan, in part for the Juba Catholic Archdiocese's Bakhita Radio station and running the Pauline Book and Media Center, and also with the people who live in a war-torn country slowly regaining some stability.

Sinking cities - In April, Dutch geologist Dr. Gilles Erkens presented his research on sinking cities to the General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union. Sinking ground – known formally as land subsidence – is a phenomenon in coastal cities worldwide, and it compounds the threat these cities already face from climate-induced rising sea-levels.
