- St. Hildegard von Bingen, OSB (1098-1179), German abbess who was gifted in writing music and poetry and wrote and illustrated a number of theological and medicinal texts. She was canonized October 7, 2012 under Pope Benedict XVI, who named her a doctor of the church.
