Catholic sisters have been helping refugees in Ukraine since Russia invaded in February 2022. Hear more about the sisters' extraordinary efforts to aid refugees in a variety of ways in this Witness & Grace Conversation with Srs. Lucia Murashko and Emanujila Oksana Vishka of the Order of St. Basil the Great, as well as photographer Gregg Burke and Chris Herlinger, Global Sisters Report’s international correspondent, who just returned from a reporting trip to Ukraine and Poland. The sisters will shared how they keep their spirituality strong amid such destruction and danger – and how you can help refugees.

Presenters
Lucia Murashko is a Sister of the Order of St. Basil the Great (The Most Holy Trinity Province, Ukraine). She completed a master's degree in theology at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv. She was a community leader in L'Arche in Lviv. Sister for 10 years was part of the leadership team of her Province as a Provincial Councillor and Vicar. Currently, she serves in the community of Basilian Sisters in Zaporizhzhia and helps in various ways those who have suffered from the war in Ukraine.
Emanujila Oksana Vishka is a Sister of the Order of St. Basil the Great (Province of St. Michael the Archangel, Croatia). She completed a bachelor's degree in management at International Christian University in Ukraine and a master's degree in theology at the Catholic Faculty of Theology at Zagreb University in Croatia. Currently, she serves as a vicar and general councilor in the general administration of the Sisters of the Order of St. Basil the Great in Rome.
Chris Herlinger is the international correspondent for Global Sisters Report. He just returned from a reporting trip to Ukraine with photojournalist Gregg Brekke. Chris also went to Poland and Ukraine in November, and to Poland just weeks after the war began last year, to report about refugees and how sisters were assisting them.
Gregg Brekke is an award-winning visual journalist and writer dedicated to creating photo and video stories that inspire, transform, and cross boundaries to introduce new audiences to the incredible people and experiences our world has to offer.
