On January 17, 2011, Sr. Angelina, 37, of the local Institute of St. Augustine in the diocese of Tombura-Yambio, South Sudan, was killed by armed guerillas of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). The nun was en route to a refugee camp where she was supplying aid.
Her murder was part of a long list of killings as the South Sudan Army and Rebel Factions clashed in different states of the East African nation.
