The Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York, will be hosting the 2021 Hearts Afire Virtual Gala on June 3, 2021, at 7 PM.
On that night, friends, family, and generous patrons of the congregation will be able to attend the Gala from anywhere, and registration is free!
During the Hearts Afire Virtual Gala, the Sisters of Saint Dominic will present the Mother Mary Ann Sammon Award for Compassion and Service to Teresa Radzinski, the Managing Director and Private Client Advisor of U.S. Trust, and to our long-time and faithful friends and benefactors Laura and Daniel Grable.
We are also excited to announce that our honoree Teresa Radzinksi and her husband, Michael, have generously made a Matching Challenge Grant of $25,000. That means that when you donate to the Hearts Afire Gala, your gift and the impact of your gift is doubled!
“Each year, the Hearts Afire Gala honors individuals who have demonstrated a spirit of faith and deep caring for others,” shared Kerrin Kissel, the Director of Development for the Sisters of Saint Dominic. “All of our past honorees have been so very deserving of this award, and Teresa, Laura, and Daniel are no exception.”
Another highlight of the Hearts Afire Virtual Gala will be the Silent Auction.
This year, the Silent Auction will take place online through our Gala website. Please note that the Silent Auction items will be announced closer to the Gala date.
During the event, the Sisters of Saint Dominic will also honor the memory of Sr. Thomas Joseph Durkin, OP, who passed away in December 2020. Sr. Thomas Joseph was an integral part of the Gala for many years, greeting guests as they arrived and working behind the scenes to make the event a success each year.
The Hearts Afire Gala is one of the most important fundraisers of the Sisters of Saint Dominic every year. Supporting the Hearts Afire Gala with a sponsorship, journal ad, or donation makes it possible for the Sisters of Saint Dominic to minister to those who are most in need, as well as care for the aging sisters in our community.
