Cristina Soyao

Cristina Soyao is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart in Frankfort, Illinois. She currently ministers as a physical therapist assistant with AMITA Health Presence Home Care in Joliet, Illinois. In addition to that ministry, she visits the homebound in her parish and is a strong advocate against human trafficking.

Emerging from the pandemic, not unscathed but transformed

I have been a physical therapist assistant for almost 28 years. During the pandemic, I adjusted to physical distancing, faced the fear of contagion, and coped with losing others, while not being able to sit with them before they pass.
