"Let us become the first generation that decides to be the last that sees empty classrooms, lost childhoods, and wasted potentials."
- Malala Yousafzai, from her Dec. 10, 2014 Nobel Peace Prize lecture
Today is the activist's 20th birthday. Yousafzai was the target of a Taliban attack in 2012 because she was a female going to school in Pakistan. Since her recovery, she has gone on to be an advocate for expanding education to all, especially girls. You can follow her on Twitter @malala.
