Sr. Elizabeth Johnson is one of Global Sisters Report's contributors and a well-respected theologian whose work often concentrates on feminist themes. She is this year's recipient of the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Leadership Conference of Women Religious. GSR is looking forward to her speech on the closing day of the assembly, which starts next week.

Read more about her and get a link to the full Nov. 1, 2009, podcast interview here; in this Random Nun Clip, she talks about when Catholics were starting to "reject" Mary, the mother of Jesus, because her image was largely constructed in a "pedestal" way.

GSR shares clips from our friends at  A Nun’s Life Ministry, which has a live prayer podcast on Monday (excluding holidays) at 4 p.m. Central Time and other live podcasts throughout the month: “Ask Sister,” “Motherhouse Road Trip” and “In Good Faith.” Dates and times for the full, live episodes are listed on their program schedule.
